Reiki energy works in harmony with all other forms of healing and will improve the results. People use Reiki to help lessen the impact
of stress, release tension from the entire body system and
restore it's self regulating mechanisms. Reiki helps to relax and strengthen wellbeing; reduce pain, anxiety, and fatigue; help manage symptoms;
and support physical healing. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing
you must believe in order to experience Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from a higher power, many people
find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it. People receiving Reiki often express a sense of connection
to their own innate spirituality, or inner source.
PRIOR TO ARRIVAL: Before your first session, a short consultation will be completed to chat about setting intention and what to expect. I
will confirm date and time to arrive at your home. For maximum benefit and relaxation, I suggest that you arrange to have a quiet setting in your home where you will not be disturbed. For your comfort, have a light meal or snack, wear comfortable clothing and use the restroom prior to my arrival.
BEFORE SESSION: Before we begin your first session, consent form
will be signed. While we set up, we will review intention for your session and address any additional questions you may have. You will
be seated comfortably with your shoes removed in either a reclining chair or on a massage table that I provide.You will have a choice of silence or background relaxing music.
DURING SESSION: During your session, my
hands are still for most of the therapy, moving only to change hand placements. Laying of the hands can be done with a light touch or if you are not comfortable being touched, the entire session can be done with my hands
3"-4" away from your body. Hand placement is respectful and non-intrusive. My role is neutral; I do not control Reiki energy nor make any attempts to fix or change the
biofield. People experience Reiki in very different ways. Some examples are that you may feel:
- tingling or throbbing
- heat or cold in areas of your body
- subtle or cascading waves of pulsations
- a glowing radiance through and around you
- sense of peace, security and well-being
- deeply relaxed; may get sleepy and doze off
- no awareness of inner movement
- relief from stress and/or discomfort
- energized or emotional
- refreshed and clear minded
AFTER SESSION: After the session, you may share your responses but it is not my role to analyze sensations or diagnose anything. Therapy benefits can occur
as soon as after the session is over. It's suggested that you take 15-20 minutes to do something relaxing and spend some time reflecting to capture any insights you may have and to connect to what
you've experienced. It
is a good idea to take it easy the rest of the day, eat lighter meals, and drink plenty of
water. Within 24-48 hours following session, some people
experience what is is called a "healing crisis". As a person's vibration goes up and energy blockages are being cleared, toxins that have been stored in the body are released into the blood stream.
Symptoms of headache, stomach ache or general weakness may be experienced. These are completely normal and temporary responses that are actually considered to be good signs that the body is releasing toxins as your body is working
to rebalance and heal. If you experience anything that causes you concern,
please contact me. I will follow up most initial sessions 48 hours after your therapy to ensure you are feeling well and reassure you if you experience a healing crisis.
